Cheers to 60 Years! Sierra Oaks K-8 Dinner & Auction
Monday, December 21, 2020

We are thrilled to be hosting the 21st Annual Sierra Oaks K-8 School Auction & Dinner on March 21st, at Del Paso Country Club.  This auction is so much more than a fantastic evening that brings our families and community together— it is a crucial fundraising event that provides our students with the most fundamental educational necessities that they both need and deserve.  Before we invite you to join with us in making this year’s event more successful than ever, we would like to first introduce you to what we believe is one of Sacramento’s most incredible K-8 schools.

Sierra Oaks is a public K-8 school located just off American River Drive, between Howe and Watt Avenues in Sacramento.  We have a diverse student body of approximately 700 students from kindergarten to eighth grade and have been awarded the California Distinguished School designation four times, in 1987, 1998, 2008 and 2014. While Sierra Oaks is not a Title I school, we do have significant financial needs in order to provide our students with the academic experience they deserve. Fifty-two percent of our Sierra Oaks student population is either homeless, in foster care, socioeconomically disadvantaged, or ESL.  This socioeconomic disadvantage parallels a stark achievement gap between these students, and those who are not disadvantaged.  We are dedicated to addressing this gap and providing an enriching educational experience for all of our K-8 students through our dedicated fundraising efforts and outcomes.

Every dollar that we raise — every dollar that you donate— goes directly toward educational fundamentals for our students. Items and experiences such as interactive reading programs for students struggling with literacy, field trips that support both educational and socio-emotional elements of child growth, STEM programs, a Classroom Aide for our K-2 students who need additional support in the classroom, and superior ESL programs for our English Learners.  We firmly believe that these are all crucial for the success of our Sierra Oaks students, and we need your help to make sure that we can continue to provide them.

We have been hard at work on this event over the last year - collecting donations, soliciting sponsorships, and planning festivities.  We couldn't have done it without the support of our amazing Sierra Oaks families, staff, and local businesses who make the choice to generously give year after year.  We look forward to a spectacular evening with all of you.

Sincerely,
